Zoe Balfour Whats New


Zoe Balfour has always loved dancing in its many forms from Scottish sword dancing to ballroom. Zoe has been teaching dance in the same sex world, both here and in Britain, for the last 20 years. She loves teaching beginners and more advanced dancers and seeing peoples delight as they find thier bodies and the joy of dancing with another person. She is patient and clear with a wonderful sense of humour that makes learning easy and fun. She started to compete in same sex ballroom in 2002 at the Sydney Gay Games, winning 2 silver medals and has been dancing and competing ever since. Zoe danced with Citabria Phillips from July 2003 till Jan 2011 .She is available for Pro Am competitive dancing with students.

Gay Games in Chicago 2006
Bronze medal in A level Women's Standard
Several of their students also did well at the Gay Games, including couples taking 5th, 4th, Bronze and Gold in the E level of Women's Standard.

US Championships in Orlando, Florida on June 2nd, 2007
Zoe and Citabria took first in women's standard.

April Follies 2007 & 2008
California State Champions -1st in Women’s International Standard.

EuroGames in Antwerp, 2007
7th in the A level women's International Standard.

North America Title Championship, 2008
North American Champions in women's International Standard.

EuroGames in Barcelona, 2008
7th in the A level women's International Standard.

April Follies 2009
North American and California State Champions -1st in Women’s International Standard.

Fresh Meat 2009
Zoe & Citabria were honored to be part of the Fresh Meat Transgender Festival 2009.

Outgames 2009
Zoe and Citabria competed in the Outgames 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark with a GOLD in A level Senior Women's Ballroom and they claimed the 6th place in A level Adult Women's Ballroom.

Philadelphia Liberty Challenge, 2010
Zoe and Citabria maintained their title as North American Champions in women's International Standard.

Dancing in the River City, California State Chapionship, 2011

Zoe and Citabria won the California State Womens Standard Title for 2011.

Citabria Phillips Whats New


Citabria has been dancing for over 15 years and teaching for more than 10.  She loves working with total beginners and more advanced dancers as individuals or couples. She brings humor, wit and kindness while giving strong, fundamental technique.

Citabria and Zoe Balfour were the co-founders, co-directors and co-teachers of Dancing with the Queers from 2006 to 2011 as well as dancing together competitively (rather successfully) from 2003 to 2011.

Robert Tristan Whats New


Robbie began Ballroom dancing at the age of 7 and won the Junior National Champion title at the age of 11 in his home country, Hungary. He has competed across Europe at numerous International dance competitions representing Hungary as a youth champion. At the age of 14 Robbie began dancing Jazz Ballet and joined musical theatre productions. His musical theatre credits include the Eastern European tour of Cats.

Robbie continued his Ballroom training with an emphasis on International Latin and Show Dance at the age of 20, learning from World Amateur Champion and current Professional World finalist Melinda Törökgyörgy. His highest achievements are in International Same Sex style, where Robbie has won the European and World Champion titles, the later for both Standard, Latin and Show Dance, which makes him and his dance partner the only couple in Same Sex Dance history who has managed to won in all three categories.

Robbie coaches Beginners, Individuals, Couples and Formation Teams for International Latin. He is available for private lessons, show choreographies, competition coaching and Pro-Am competitions.
